Life in the interior

image image

So, just in case you haven't heard, it's cold outside. The kind of cold where your kitchen freezer is still a solid 20 degrees warmer than it is outdoors. Suppooosedly it was going to "warm up" to -4F today, but so far this morning, it's colder than ever. When we checked this morning, the reading was -18F. Frostbite actually becomes a serious concern. Preheat those cars! Wear wool! Don't neglect your toes! (Is there anything freakier than suddenly not being able to feel your feet?)

Needless to say, even though Wisconsin temperatures don't usually lend themselves to long days spent outside, much more indoorsy activity is taking place this week. Movies, board games, eating way too much junk food, and snuggling (and playing) with kitties. Pile on those blankets!

Stay warm and safe, everyone! :)

Cheers,
Kate xx

  1. Hope you are staying warm over there!! It's just as cold here in MN and I'm hoping to brave the cold to head to the gym today…if my car decides to start today that is! xx

    1. Ohhh that lovely "will it start?" moment and then, when it does, the inevitable terrifying growl/squeal/grinding noise that comes from the under the hood and you wish you hadn't even tried. ;) Haha. Hope you're staying nice and cozy for the most part!

    1. I'm visiting home from Edinburgh at the moment, and I thought it was cold there, so I should stop my complaining! It is dark, though... I'd almost take a little bit more sun if it's going to insist on being so frrreeezing! Stay warm! :D

  3. It seems that everywhere have been hit with the polar vortex. In Boston, we are in the single digits for a whole week already. Stay warm!!

    1. Ahhh too cold! It finally reached 32 or so today and we were like, IT'S HOT OUT. !! Love it. Well, 'love' is a relative term. Winter is so crazy... hoping for milder spells for the rest of the winter!

  4. I love the cold, but that sounds a bit TOO cold. We had a two-day snowstorm this past weekend in Colorado.

    1. Personally, I would take serious cold over a massive quantity of snow, but it's kind of a draw. Oh, winter! And I've always wanted to spend some real time in Colorado, although perhaps I should wait until the summer months... ;) Haha. Stay safe (and warm)!!

    1. Thanks! :D And yes, it sure does say something about how cold it was when 18 degrees starts to feel practically balmy! ;) Cheers!
