Sunday soundtrack

It's been a long time since I've posted a playlist! My how time flies. I also admit I'd been pretty lazy about finding new music, but over the last few weeks I've gotten a number of fantastic recommendations from friends and have also skimmed a few end-of-year best-of lists. I love those! So these are some that I've been listening to a lot lately. I'm particularly into Haim at the moment and have been indulging in a lot of King Creosote because, since he's from Aberdeen, he's much more easy to come by here ;) I'm looking forward to seeing him at Hogmanay. But anyway... eight tracks for your listening pleasure!

Study playlist!

May I present to you yet another playlist... this one very much thanks to iTunes Radio (although a few songs I've listened to for years, such as City and Colour's "The Girl"), but there are some up-and-coming groups on here as well, thanks to listening to whatever iTunes wanted to play for me. :) It's another very eclectic mix--Alt-J* and Django Django contrast City and Colour and RY X, but that's what I love so much about playlists... the variety! Enjoy!

Also -- I've decided to keep trying to share the videos for these so they're easy to hear right away. A mix of lyric videos, official videos, and the occasional preferable live or acoustic version... such as my all-time favorite Beirut video EVER via La Blogotheque. Tunes!

I insist on calling it late summer because it has so not felt like autumn yet here in Edinburgh! Although, to be fair, the leaves have started to change. A very short playlist reflecting a few new finds (Cosmo Sheldrake) and a couple of oldies that I resurrected (Boy and King Creosote).











Just for fun, another Cosmo Sheldrake song I'm totally hooked on... this guy needs a record soon. ;)



Also, I just purchased my ticket for the Hogmanay Street Party -- where King Creosote will be playing. !! He made seeing his live show quite easy for me after all. :) Hooray! All-Scottish acts will also include Chvrches and Django Django. I'm so excited for the New Year now -- woo!

Playlist primer

See what I did there? (Oh, Kate, you didn't...)

Okay, so I'm not very punny.  But since I've been up on ladders, scooting around on drop-cloths, rinsing brushes and trying very hard to not have to wipe up paint drops off the floor, I thought I'd throw out another quick playlist. An eclectic mix this time! But definitely not chill, which is not what one goes for when she's trying to keep her energy up. Painting a room takes a good amount of that.

Moving tunes

As the big move to Edinburgh draws near, I've been working hard packing and organizing, and I've needed some upbeat tunage to keep me going. These are songs I just can't tire of! Thrown in for good measure are some more downbeat or less-dancey songs to keep it interesting. I like a real good mixed-up mix. :)

I have Spotify and my iTunes library open at the same time, usually, so I go between playlists for a few rare things that Spotify does not have. You can check out my Spotify profile (which will open up the Spotify app) and keep up with my ever-changing lists. I thought it might kind of fun to start a weekly or bi-weekly playlist post to share what I've really been listening to. Since music is a big part of my day, I think it's worth sharing with you!
